SMARTLipo™
If you have areas of fat that will not respond to diet and exercise, you're probably a candidate for SMARTLipo™.
The Smartlipo™ is the first laser system designed for Laser Body Sculpting and for the disruption of fat cells. It is ideal for treating localized deposits of unwanted fat, fat tissue irregularities and for coagulating tissue leading to a tightening effect. Smartlipo is ideal for treating small areas of the face, neck, arms, male breasts (gynecomastia), and other areas of loose or lax skin (flabby skin).
The three-part process begins with infusion, the introduction of liquids into the body which both numbs the area and helps constrict the blood vessels. Known as the Tumescent technique, these injections combine lidocaine (a numbing agent) and epinephrine (a capillary constrictor) to enlarge and firm the targeted areas while numbing them. This eliminates the need for either general anesthesia or IV fluids.
Step two is disruption, the breaking up of the fat cells. Fat cells can be disrupted mechanically by a) using a small probe to break up the cells; b) ultrasonically; or c) by the use of a laser, which literally liquefies the cells.
Step three is the suction and removal of the fat itself.
